A mosque or masjid is a place of worship for followers of Islam. The word entered the English language most likely through French (mosquée), from Portuguese (mesquita), from Spanish (mezquita), and from Berber (tamezgida), ultimately originating in Arabic: masjid.

Umayyad Mosque : Damascus, Syria
The Umayyad Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Damascus is located in the old city of Damascus, is one of the largest and oldest mosques in the world. It is considered the fourth-holiest place in Islam.
